ARC Raiders Matches Players Based on Playstyle: Peaceful or PvP-Friendly

ARC Raiders Matches Players According to Playstyle
Even in ARC Raiders, a game centered on gunplay, players experience the game differently. Some engage immediately in PvP combat, while others focus on teamwork and PvE objectives. Recently, Embark Studios confirmed that the game now uses behavior-based matchmaking to enhance player experience.
How the System Works
According to Patrick Söderlund, an executive at Embark Studios, the matchmaking system prioritizes:
- Skill level – ensures fair gameplay first.
- Party size – balances solo players with groups.
- Behavioral compatibility – groups players based on their tendencies in-game.
Players who tend to shoot other players immediately are identified as PvP-oriented, increasing the likelihood they will encounter other PvP-focused players. Conversely, players who focus on looting, exploring, and fighting AI-controlled robots are grouped with cooperative, PvE-minded players.
Impact on Gameplay
This approach aims to maintain a more positive game environment. ARC Raiders’ world, from abandoned industrial zones to dense forests, provides varied terrain for both PvP and cooperative strategies. By pairing players according to their playstyle, the system encourages fairer encounters and reduces frustration caused by mismatched play preferences.
