Hytale Reaches Nearly 3 Million Concurrent Players, Becomes Most Watched Game on Twitch

Hytale has officially opened its gates to players worldwide following its long awaited Early Access launch, and the results have been nothing short of explosive. The sandbox RPG, which has been in development for nearly a decade, has already recorded a peak of approximately 2.8 million concurrent players within just a few hours of release, signaling massive global interest from day one.
The hype did not stop there. According to PC Gamer, Hytale also climbed to the top of Twitch streaming charts within the first 24 hours after launch. The game accumulated over 429,000 total live stream viewers, a figure that far surpasses similar sandbox titles. For comparison, Minecraft reportedly drew around 66,200 viewers during the same timeframe, placing Hytale at nearly ten times the viewership despite being in Early Access.
This level of attention is not entirely surprising. Hytale has cultivated a dedicated community since its initial reveal years ago, back when Minecraft had yet to fully establish itself as a large scale content creation platform. The combination of voxel based visuals, fantasy RPG gameplay, and creative freedom immediately set Hytale apart as something fresh and ambitious.
Interest only grew stronger after Riot Games acquired the development studio, followed by a long period of limited updates. That silence, rather than killing momentum, fueled anticipation even further as fans continued to support and wait for the project’s return.
Simon, the head of the development team, also shared comments with players directly through the in game chat, expressing gratitude for the overwhelming support and reaffirming the team’s commitment to expanding content throughout the Early Access period.
