Towerborne Confirms Exit from Early Access and Drops Free to Play Plan

During its Early Access period, Towerborne has gained steady popularity among indie action fans. Although the project received funding support from Xbox Game Studios, the development team at Stoic retained full creative control over the game’s direction. The studio has now officially confirmed that Towerborne will launch its complete version in late February, with PlayStation 5 joining the list of supported platforms.
About Towerborne
Towerborne is a side scrolling beat em up action RPG where players step into the role of the Aces, elite warriors who must work together to protect humanity from demonic threats roaming beyond the city walls. As characters born from the spirit realm, the Aces possess unique abilities that can be adapted to a wide range of combat situations.
The game features a flexible character progression system that allows players to customize their playstyle through upgrades and Spirit companions. These small spirit partners support combat and progression, giving players meaningful choices when shaping their characters while maintaining an accessible and cooperative focused experience.

Following the full release, Towerborne will transition into a premium buy once title. An internet connection will no longer be required during gameplay, as full offline mode support will be added. The complete version will also expand the story, allowing players to progress toward the true final boss and experience the narrative as originally intended.

As part of this shift, Stoic has officially canceled the previously planned Free to Play model. While the entry price may be higher than a free title, the premium approach removes concerns about server shutdowns and ensures long term access to the full game content.
