CD Projekt RED Confirms Cyberpunk 2077 Won’t Be Revoked After Pricing Error

CD Projekt RED has officially confirmed that players who purchased Cyberpunk 2077 at a heavily discounted price on the Nintendo Switch 2 eShop will be allowed to keep the game permanently.

Earlier this week, Switch 2 players were caught off guard when Cyberpunk 2077 suddenly appeared on the eShop with a 75% discount, reducing the price to around $18 USD, or less than 600 THB, for the full game bundled with the Phantom Liberty expansion. The promotion remained live for several hours before the price was quietly reverted to its standard rate.

What Caused the Massive Discount

later clarified that the unusually low price was the result of a pricing configuration error during the promotion submission process with Nintendo. The studio confirmed that the mistake also affected The Witcher III: Wild Hunt, leading to incorrect discount values being applied.

The issue has since been corrected, and both titles now reflect their intended promotional pricing.

No Revokes, No Rollbacks

Most importantly, CD Projekt RED reassured players that anyone who purchased Cyberpunk 2077 during the mistaken sale will not have the game revoked. All affected users will retain permanent access to the title at no additional cost.

Interestingly, observant players noted that the initial discount rates appeared to be swapped between the two games. Currently, The Witcher III: Wild Hunt is discounted by 75%, while Cyberpunk 2077 is now priced at $39.99 USD, representing a 42% discount—still considered excellent value given the amount of content included.

Cyberpunk 2077 on Nintendo Switch 2

The Nintendo Switch 2 version of Cyberpunk 2077 includes the Phantom Liberty expansion in a single package. The game supports Thai language, and offers the full open-world, first-person RPG experience set in the dystopian future of Night City.

Players take on the role of mercenary V, navigating a neon-lit world through hacking, combat, and cybernetic upgrades, with deep character customization and player-driven choices shaping the journey.

Cyberpunk 2077 on Nintendo Switch 2 has been available since June, launching alongside the console itself.
