Fire Emblem Shadows: Under $200k in 30 Days Global Revenue

Fire Emblem Shadows’ Modest Global Revenue After 30 Days

Fire Emblem Shadows, Nintendo’s first new mobile game in six years, had a significantly modest financial start. According to AppMagic estimates, the game generated just under $200,000 globally in its first 30 days following its September 25, 2025 launch. This figure represents less than 0.4% of the first-month earnings of its highly successful predecessor, Fire Emblem Heroes.

Revenue Breakdown and Comparison

The revenue generated by Fire Emblem Shadows in its first month was split between platforms:

  • iOS (App Store): $107,000
  • Android (Google Play): Approximately $92,500 (note: this estimate may be slightly low due to initial ranking issues on the Play Store).

This performance stands in stark contrast to Fire Emblem Heroes, which debuted in 2017. Heroes generated an impressive $51.4 million in its first 30 days, showing the massive difference in immediate financial success between the two mobile titles.

Monetization Strategy Impact

The primary reason for the vast difference in revenue is the distinct monetization models used by the two games:

  • Fire Emblem Shadows (Season Pass Model): Shadows primarily relies on players purchasing a season pass, with few other in-game spending options. Spending peaked early at around $22,000 on the second day and rapidly declined thereafter.
  • Fire Emblem Heroes (Gacha Model): Heroes utilizes a traditional, highly lucrative gacha formula. This encouraged continuous spending on new characters, leading to sustained revenue peaks throughout its debut month.

Gameplay Shift

Fire Emblem Shadows is a different type of game entirely. It is a social deduction and real-time combat spin-off, deviating from the core turn-based strategy and gacha mechanics that made Fire Emblem Heroes a billion dollar mobile success. This shift in genre and monetization clearly resulted in a much weaker financial launch.
