ROG Ally X Xbox Edition Sales Exceed Expectations

Asus’ ROG Ally X Xbox Edition has seen sales surpass expectations, according to the latest investor briefing. The handheld gaming PC launched on October 16 and quickly gained massive attention, particularly the high-spec $999 version, which has emerged as the standout top seller. The device benefits from deep Xbox integration on both hardware and software, attracting gamers worldwide from day one.

Demand for ROG Ally X has outpaced the available supply in many regions, prompting Asus to ramp up production and collaborate closely with key component suppliers to meet the unexpectedly high orders. Despite the premium price, consumers have embraced the device, highlighting the growing potential of the Windows handheld gaming market.

ROG Ally has been a pioneer in portable Windows gaming since its debut 2-3 years ago. Over time, the platform has consistently proven its potential, leading to the release of the third-generation model last month. This edition strengthens Xbox collaboration and has exceeded sales projections, making ROG Ally X a central driver for Asus’ gaming portfolio.

The high-spec version remains the most sought-after model, with users willing to pay more for superior performance compared to the $600 base model. Asus anticipates that ROG Ally will continue to compete with devices like Steam Deck while reinforcing Xbox’s strategy to position itself as an everything app for gamers. Revenue forecasts for the Ally lineup are now estimated between $96 million and $160 million for the current quarter, with expected averages of $130 million to $160 million per quarter moving forward.

Experts note that the success of ROG Ally X not only validates Asus’ handheld strategy but also hints at future innovations incorporating AI and cloud gaming. Consumers, however, may face short-term stock shortages due to strong demand for this premium device.

ROG Ally X proves Asus’ commitment to high-performance handheld gaming and Xbox integration, setting a new benchmark for portable PCs while sparking excitement for future innovations in the sector.
