Mr. Dong-ki Kang, Business Manager and Responsible for the Development of MONGIL: STAR DIVE
TIG Team: After the CBT2 test, players have commented a lot. What improvements or new features do you plan to add from those feedbacks?
Dong-ki Kang: First of all, We would like to thank all the players who participated in the CBT test and shared valuable feedback. We focus on improving the overall game balance, story clarity, and UI/UX.
We are balancing growth, development and the economy so that finding resources is smoother and progress is not too difficult. We’ve also improved the storytelling so that players can get more into each episode. And we’re updating the scrapbook to highlight monster collecting even more.
In addition, we are developing a new lean game mode called Rift, where players will encounter new monsters and bosses every time they play and get a wider variety of monsters. Therefore, we have added a shooting mode to allow players to capture more memorable and stylish shots. And we have many other improvements and features in the works. We hope players will look forward to it.

The TIG Team: The physics and animation in CBT2 feel impressive. Did the team use any special engines or technology to achieve that level of detail?
Dong-ki Kang: We’re developing this game with Unreal Engine 5 to deliver truly high-quality visuals and animations. We put a lot of technical effort into bringing anime-style characters to life within the world of MONGIL: STAR DIVE, paying attention to all aspects of visual elements, so that the quality of the characters remains consistently the same. No matter what angle you look at or under any lighting conditions. Refined lighting and appropriate lighting for the setting are also important factors that help each character to be portrayed realistically. We’ve already released some of these techniques at Unreal Fest Orlando 2025 and Unreal Fest Seoul 2025.
In addition, with AMD’s FSR technology as well as enhancements in collaboration with Samsung Electronics, we are preparing games to run as smoothly as possible. Even on devices with basic specs.

TIG Team: The game now supports the full Thai language during the CBT test, why did the team focus on Thai players early?
Dong-ki Kang: Since we are preparing to launch the game on a global scale, we continue to exhibit the game at international events. Multilingual support has been an important factor since the beginning of development.
especially Thailand is a market with a lot of interest in MONGIL: STAR DIVE and has high growth potential, so we chose to release the full Thai version early so that players can be sure that they will have a smooth and complete experience from day one.
TIG Team: Each character feels very unique. How does the team design these characters so that players feel connected to each character?
Dong-ki Kang: We’ve put our best efforts into ensuring that each character fits seamlessly into the game’s story. Their personalities and backgrounds are revealed little by little with each episode. To allow players to understand their identity and drive in battle. We’re also preparing a new feature like “Relationship Quests” that will allow players to explore each character’s story even more.
For visual work. We have improved and developed unique postures. Players can feel the uniqueness and charm of the characters that players have accumulated in the team as clearly as possible.

TIG Team: Will there be online features such as co-op or PvP mode in the future?
Dong-ki Kang: We don’t currently have any plans to develop PvP-focused content. We welcome and consider any type of multiplayer experience, such as PvP or PvE, as long as the content is in line with the essence of the fun we want to offer.
TIG Team: What was the biggest challenge or obstacle the team faced during the development of MONGIL: STAR DIVE?
Mr. Dong-ki Kang: In the midst of many challenges, The hardest part is figuring out what really makes MONGIL: STAR DIVE stand out among the many high-quality games currently being released. We have analyzed player feedback thoroughly and constantly improved the direction of the game. For now, we’re confident that the game can clearly maintain its uniqueness and fun.
