Apple Foldable iPhone Leaks Again as 3D Renders Surface Ahead of Official Reveal

Apple may have a growing list of people it would prefer to disappear from the internet, and YouTuber and well-known leaker Jon Prosser is likely near the top of that list. After previously facing legal action over leaks related to iOS 26 and Liquid Glass, Prosser has once again caused shockwaves by releasing a new video showcasing 3D render of Apple’s unannounced foldable iPhone.

The video, released on Christmas Eve, claims that Apple’s foldable iPhone is scheduled to launch in fall next year, alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. According to Prosser, the device will feature a 5.5-inch outer display with a punch-hole front camera, while the inner foldable screen measures 7.8 inches, also equipped with a punch-hole camera positioned in the top-left corner for usability.

The leaked renders show a dual rear camera setup housed in an elongated camera bar, visually similar to the design language of the rumored iPhone Air, with the LED flash placed separately on the opposite side. Prosser claims the device measures just 9 millimeters thick when folded, or approximately 4.5 millimeters per side, making it significantly thinner than even the ultra-slim iPhone Air. If accurate, this would represent an extremely ambitious engineering achievement for Apple.

Overall dimensions appear to align with previous rumors, though they contradict some reports suggesting the outer display would be smaller at around 5.25 inches. The renders also suggest that Apple’s foldable iPhone will be wider than it is tall, closely resembling the original Google Pixel Fold. Notably, the device appears to rely on punch-hole cameras rather than the under-display camera technology that had been heavily rumored in the past.

One of the most closely watched aspects is the screen crease. While earlier reports suggested Apple had fully solved this issue, the latest leak indicates that the crease may still be visible under certain conditions. If true, this could impact the premium image Apple aims to maintain, potentially causing hesitation among some consumers.

While a foldable iPhone would undoubtedly generate massive attention if officially announced, the bigger question remains whether consumers are willing to pay for it. With rumors suggesting a starting price above 2,000 USD, Apple may face challenges convincing buyers. Past lessons from the iPhone mini, iPhone Plus, and iPhone Air, all of which struggled to meet sales expectations, may force Apple to once again prove that innovation within the iPhone lineup is compelling enough to justify a significant price tag.
