ASUS ROG Swift PG27UCWM OLED 4K Gaming Monitor with 480Hz Dual-Mode Launched

ASUS has officially launched its latest gaming monitor, the ROG Swift PG27UCWM, following a teaser campaign on social media. The monitor made its debut at CES 2026 and is considered one of the most notable OLED displays of the year. It features LG Display’s 4th-generation Tandem WOLED panel, marking a significant advancement in brightness and durability beyond standard OLED panels.

Display and Resolution

The PG27UCWM has a 26.5-inch screen in the 27-inch category and supports a 4K resolution (3840 × 2160 pixels). This is the first time a Tandem WOLED panel has been applied at this resolution and screen size. ASUS also switched from the traditional RGWB subpixel layout to RGB-stripe, improving text sharpness and image details, achieving approximately 166 PPI, making it suitable for gaming and productivity alike.

Performance Highlights

Gamers will appreciate the native 240Hz refresh rate at 4K, combined with a Dual-Mode option that allows switching to 1080p to push refresh rates up to 480Hz, catering to competitive esports players. The monitor also boasts 0.03ms G2G response time and supports Adaptive-Sync for smooth, tear-free visuals.

Color Accuracy and HDR

The PG27UCWM covers 99% of DCI-P3, offers 10-bit color, and comes factory-calibrated with a dE < 2 for reliable color accuracy. It supports HDR10 and Dolby Vision, delivering premium image quality for gaming and cinematic content. The monitor is expected to meet VESA DisplayHDR 500 True Black standards. While the RGB layout slightly limits SDR brightness, the monitor achieves 250 nits SDR and up to 1000 nits HDR at low APL, maintaining vibrant colors at high brightness. ASUS claims the Tandem technology increases color volume by 27% compared to previous models.

Design and Connectivity

The monitor features a rogue-black aesthetic in line with ROG design. Safety features include OLED Care Pro and Neo Proximity Sensor to prevent burn-in. Connectivity options include DisplayPort 2.1a (UHBR20), USB-C with DP Alt Mode and 90W power delivery, and HDMI 2.1. Additional features include KVM support and PiP/PbP, allowing seamless multi-device usage.

The ASUS ROG Swift PG27UCWM positions itself as a top-tier choice for gamers seeking high refresh rates, accurate colors, and OLED performance without compromise.
