During a recent Xbox Developer event, Game Freak officially revealed a brand-new trailer for Beast of Reincarnation, along with a confirmed release window set for mid-year 2026. This ambitious project marks a major shift for the studio best known for the Pokémon franchise, as it partners with Western publisher Fictions to deliver a dark and immersive action RPG experience.
About Beast of Reincarnation
Beast of Reincarnation is an action-adventure RPG set in a Japan-inspired land devastated by a long-forgotten catastrophe. The world has fallen into decay, overrun by dangerous monsters, and humanity’s last hope may rest in the hands of Emma, a young woman cursed as a Blighted One, and her loyal canine companion Koo.
As players journey across ever-changing environments, serene forests can transform into hostile wastelands in an instant. Survival will depend on adaptability, skill, and the bond between the two protagonists as they face constant threats throughout their journey.
Gameplay Overview
The newly released trailer highlights a unique “one-person, one-dog” action system, allowing players to control both Emma and Koo simultaneously. Combat blends real-time action mechanics with turn-based RPG elements, offering tactical depth alongside fast-paced encounters.
Players can issue commands to Koo in various situations to complement different playstyles. Skills and equipment can be freely customized, affecting both characters’ abilities, and multiple difficulty options are available to suit different levels of challenge.
