Ghost of Yōtei Unveils “One Thousand Blades” Trailer Highlighting Atsu’s Revenge

Sucker Punch has reignited excitement for Ghost of Yōtei with a brand-new trailer titled “One Thousand Blades.” Unlike previous previews, this trailer focuses less on individual weapons and more on the backstory of the main character, Atsu, and her motivation to return to the harsh lands of Ezo.
The trailer reveals Atsu’s driving force: after the ruthless Yōtei Six assassins murdered her family and left her for dead, she embarks on a relentless journey of revenge, hunting each killer one by one. Players will need to track enemies carefully while mastering diverse combat skills and a wide array of weapons.
New Weapons and Combat Styles
Players can now wield a variety of new weapons, including dual swords, odachi, kusarigama, yari spears, and firearms, while retaining the iconic katana that fans loved in Ghost of Tsushima. This expansion of combat options promises more strategic depth and action-packed encounters throughout Atsu’s journey.
Set 300 years after Ghost of Tsushima, Ghost of Yōtei is a standalone experience in 1600s rural northern Japan. Atsu, a lone mercenary, traverses beautiful yet treacherous landscapes on her path to avenge her family. Despite being a new protagonist, Atsu has no direct connection to Jin Sakai from the previous game.
The game is scheduled for release on PlayStation 5 on October 2, 2025, offering fans a fresh tale of vengeance and a stunning, immersive Japanese setting.
