AMD Says AI Is Still Underhyped Despite Investor Skepticism

At IFA Berlin, AMD highlighted that artificial intelligence is still underhyped, comparing its current stage to the early days of the internet. The company explained that while AI tools such as image generators and chat systems are making noise today, the bigger shift lies in future innovations like text-to-video and fully localized AI on personal devices. For AMD, the foundation of this evolution starts with strong PCs built on efficiency, architecture, and balance rather than spectacle.

AMD placed heavy emphasis on edge-first design. Its strategy revolves around combining CPUs, GPUs, and highly efficient NPUs to create systems that deliver maximum performance per watt. The company rejected the idea of launching its own streaming or cloud gaming service, stating that it aims to empower partners rather than compete with them. Despite having a smaller market share in discrete GPUs, AMD reiterated that demand is still high and confirmed that its roadmap is on track. Part of this plan includes FidelityFX Super Resolution “Redstone,” which is expected to roll out soon and push visual fidelity forward.
The company is encouraging both patience and perspective. It believes AI should be viewed as a long-term transformation instead of a short-term bubble. For players, developers, and PC enthusiasts in Southeast Asia, this means AMD’s approach could bring steady progress that builds on solid fundamentals rather than quick, attention-grabbing stunts. The vision is clear: focus on efficiency, scalability, and architecture, and AI’s real potential will emerge naturally over time.
