Dungeon Stalkers Exits Early Access and Goes Free-to-Play

Dungeon Stalkers Fully Launches and Goes Free-to-Play on PC

The intense PvEvP Hero dungeon extraction game, Dungeon Stalkers, has officially concluded its Early Access phase and launched its Version 1.0 update. The game is now fully free-to-play on PC via Steam, allowing players across the globe to jump into the chaotic dungeons without an initial purchase. The full release coincided with a major server shutdown maintenance on October 28, 2025.

Full Launch and Free-to-Play Model

Dungeon Stalkers is an action RPG that blends the exploration of classic dungeon crawling with the high-stakes survival of the extraction genre. Players select one of several unique heroes, known as Stalkers, to descend into cursed dungeons, defeat monsters, clash with rival Stalkers, and escape alive with rare loot.

  • Free-to-Play Structure: As planned during its Early Access phase, the game is now completely free to play. Revenue is generated through in-app purchases, including a free and premium battle pass system and a Prime Account upgrade for bonus features.
  • Extraction Gameplay: The core loop remains the same: acquire equipment and treasures while fighting both monsters (PvE) and other players (PvP), all under the looming threat of the Witch’s Curse which dynamically changes dungeon conditions every five minutes.

New Features in Version 1.0

The 1.0 release is marked by the start of Official Season 1 and includes significant content additions and quality-of-life changes.

  • New Dungeon: The full launch introduces the new Mansion of Desire Dungeon, adding a fresh environment and new challenges for Stalkers to explore.
  • New Stalker: A new melee warrior Stalker named Kazimorde has been added to the roster, giving players another unique class to master.
  • New Insurance System: The new Scavenger Contract insurance system has been implemented. This system allows players to mitigate the risk of losing valuable gear during high-stakes runs.
  • QoL Improvements: The development team implemented numerous quality-of-life improvements. Notably, there were changes to the basic control scheme, unifying many inventory and equipment actions to the Left-click button for a more streamlined experience.
  • Cosmetic Rewards: The update introduced a Legendary Nave Season Skin and a Twitch Drop Nave Skin, offering new cosmetic customization options.

The Prime Account Upgrade was also adjusted, changing the price to $24.99 and increasing the initial Wishstones provided from 500 to 800 for new purchasers. This upgrade provides benefits such as a permanent Safe Bag slot expansion and exclusive matchmaking options.
