Death Stranding 2: On the Beach reveals official PC requirements ahead of March launch

Death Stranding 2 officially confirms PC specifications

Good news for PC players who have been waiting for the next masterpiece from Hideo Kojima. Kojima Productions, together with Nixxes Software, has officially revealed the PC system requirements for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. The game is set to launch on PC on March 19, 2026, bringing Sam Bridges back for another journey of connection.

The PC version aims to match the visual quality of the PlayStation 5 release while offering extensive optimization options. As a result, the game is designed to run smoothly across a wide range of hardware, from budget builds to high-end rigs.

Minimum to high-end PC requirements

Death Stranding 2 PC system requirements

For players aiming to play at 1080p and 30 FPS, the minimum requirements are relatively accessible. The game requires an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 or AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT with 8GB of VRAM. Meanwhile, those targeting the best possible experience at 4K and 60 FPS will need far more powerful hardware, such as an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 or AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT.

Across all configurations, the game requires 16GB of RAM and a fast SSD with at least 150GB of free storage. Therefore, upgrading to an SSD is essential to ensure smooth traversal and loading during long delivery routes.

Performance technologies and handheld-friendly preset

In addition to raw hardware support, Death Stranding 2 includes a full suite of modern performance technologies. The PC version supports NVIDIA DLSS 4, AMD FSR 4, and Intel XeSS 2, all of which offer image upscaling and frame generation options. These features allow players to boost performance without sacrificing visual fidelity.

Moreover, the developers introduced a dedicated Portable preset. This mode is designed specifically for handheld gaming PCs and laptops, making the game more accessible for players who prefer to deliver cargo on the go.

Interestingly, the PC version also includes Pico upscaling, the same internal upscaling solution used on PlayStation 5. This marks the first time PC players can choose this option.

Full ultrawide and cinematic presentation

Visually, Death Stranding 2 goes all in on cinematic presentation. All cutscenes are fully optimized for 21:9 ultrawide monitors, creating a film-like experience. During gameplay, the game supports aspect ratios up to 32:9, giving players an expansive view of the landscape.

Even for players using standard 16:9 displays, there is a Wide view option in the settings menu. This allows a broader field of view without requiring an ultrawide monitor, ensuring everyone can enjoy a more immersive perspective.

PlayStation-themed bonuses and connectivity

As a special bonus, players will receive exclusive in-game items inspired by PlayStation branding. These include the Porter Suit: Link and Patch: Link cosmetics. On PlayStation 5, these items are distributed via a free update. On PC, players can unlock them simply by linking their account to PlayStation services.

This feature reinforces the theme of connection that defines the series, bridging communities across platforms.

Pre-orders now live on PC

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is now available for pre-order on Steam and the Epic Games Store. With its demanding visuals, extensive optimization features, and wide hardware support, PC players can now prepare their systems ahead of launch.

If you are unsure whether your current PC can handle the journey ahead, checking your system specs early may save you time before Sam Bridges sets out once again.
