Silent Hill Producer Aims for at Least One Game Release Every Year

The haunted town is expected to return annually

Since Konami officially announced the revival of Silent Hill during the Silent Hill Transmission showcase a few years ago, the company has shown strong confidence in returning to the console market with a steady flow of premium gaming experiences. Alongside other major franchises such as Metal Gear Solid, Silent Hill has clearly positioned itself as one of Konami’s key pillars moving forward.

In a recent annual feature by Famitsu, where industry figures share their outlook for the coming year, Motoi Okamoto, producer of the Silent Hill series, delivered a brief but eye catching message. He noted that in 2024 alone, Konami successfully released two Silent Hill titles, including Silent Hill 2 and the recently revealed Silent Hill f, both of which generated significant buzz among fans.

Okamoto stated that his goal is to be the best possible producer for the franchise and to keep players excited for what comes next. As part of that vision, Konami is aiming to release at least one Silent Hill game per year on average, ensuring that fans will always have a new visit to the fog covered town waiting for them.

Looking ahead, the Silent Hill pipeline remains full. In addition to already announced projects such as Silent Hill Townfall and a remake of the original Silent Hill, there are also unannounced titles currently in development. If everything goes according to plan, this strategy means the franchise will maintain a consistent release rhythm without long gaps between major entries.

Among the upcoming projects, Silent Hill Townfall appears to be the most advanced. The game is being developed by No Code Studios, known for award winning titles like Stories Untold and Observation, with publishing support from Annapurna Interactive. While details remain scarce beyond the initial teaser, expectations are high given the pedigree of the teams involved.

For fans across the SEA Region, this commitment signals a new era for Silent Hill, one where the iconic horror series could once again become a regular presence in the gaming calendar.
