Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin – Hinuka’s Traversing Spirit Tale has officially opened pre-registration in Japan, bringing a fresh mobile spin to the beloved farming-and-combat hybrid. The game combines rice cultivation mechanics with dynamic spirit-based battles, allowing players to grow crops, host festivals, and train spirit allies in a richly detailed setting inspired by the original console game.
In this free-to-play offering players will experience rice harvests that tie into character progression and unlock powerful abilities as they explore mystical realms and face off against supernatural foes. The story sees Hinuka journey through spiritual lands to restore balance between the mortal realm and the spirit world, challenging players to master both farming strategy and action-oriented combat. The Japanese pre-registration campaign offers early rewards for players who register ahead of launch, typically including exclusive outfits, spirit companions, or premium currency to accelerate progress.
Although the initial launch is focused on Japan, players across the SEA region are watching closely, since the original Sakuna game gained strong regional support and localized events. Free-to-play mobile RPGs that blend genres have seen increasing popularity in SEA recently, making this title one to watch. Deeper and more realistic rice cultivation: This game expands the farming system even further. There are more than 15 varieties of rice to choose from, such as Akita Komachi or Koshihikari, so players can choose to cultivate manually or automated.
