Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake Announces Silent Hill f Collaboration and Free Demo in March

During Taipei Game Show 2026, KOEI Tecmo officially confirmed that Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake will receive a special collaboration with the upcoming horror title Silent Hill f. The collaboration will introduce free DLC skins inspired by both franchises, allowing characters from each game to wear special crossover costumes. Full details regarding the exact designs have not yet been revealed.

In addition, KOEI Tecmo announced that starting March 5, players will be able to download and play a free demo of Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake. While specific content details for the demo have not been disclosed, it will provide players with an early opportunity to experience the game’s haunting atmosphere, story setup, and core gameplay mechanics before the full release.

The newly released trailer also showcased several brand-new features do not present in the original version or the Wii edition. These include a new theme song titled “Utsushie” performed by renowned horror music artist Tsuki Amano, as well as additional locations such as cemeteries and abandoned shrines. Players will guide Mio and Mayu through these new environments while confronting hostile spirits using expanded camera mechanics and newly added camera lenses that enhance combat depth. Several other new features have also been confirmed, further expanding the remake experience.

Their journey soon takes a terrifying turn as mysterious crimson butterflies appear, leading them into encounters with restless spirits and a forbidden ritual that places both sisters in grave danger.
