PS5 Pro Owners Disappointed as Games Fail to Use Console’s Full Power

Nearly a year after launch, the PS5 Pro once marketed as the next step in console performance with AI-powered upscaling, smoother gameplay, and enhanced ray tracing is falling short of expectations for many players. Despite its promise to deliver a next-level experience, a growing number of new releases have either failed to take advantage of the console’s upgraded hardware or, in some cases, performed worse than on the standard PS5.

When Sony first unveiled the PS5 Pro, it was pitched as a premium investment for gamers seeking top-tier performance. Early titles like Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Horizon Forbidden West, and Stellar Blade showed noticeable improvements in graphics and fluidity. However, more recent releases have raised concerns about the lack of consistent support.

Several major games illustrate the problem. Silent Hill 2, despite promising PS5 Pro optimization, has been widely criticized for technical issues and underwhelming enhancements. Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater has been found to perform worse on PS5 Pro compared to the base model, even though it was supposed to benefit from the console’s power. Meanwhile, Silent Hill F launched with issues in PSSR, the system’s AI-powered upscaling technology. Adding to the frustration, Borderlands 4 completely omitted PS5 Pro support, leading to severe technical complaints from players.

While some games continue to demonstrate the system’s potential, the growing list of titles that fail to do so has left many owners questioning whether their investment was truly worth it. If the lack of developer support persists, the PS5 Pro could become a contentious topic in the gaming community, as players debate whether the console’s premium price tag delivers on its ambitious promises.
