CyberAgent, the parent company of Cygames, recently announced its Q3 financial results (April–June 2025), reporting strong growth in both revenue and profits. The gaming business played a major role in this success, with the English version of Umamusume: Pretty Derby recognized as one of the company’s top three highest-earning games.

According to ITmedia news, CyberAgent’s total sales rose by 10.9% year-over-year, reaching 210.7 billion yen (approximately 46,386 million THB). Operating profit surged 138.3% to 19.6 billion yen (around 4,315 million THB). Specifically, the gaming sector saw a 30.4% increase in sales, a 46.6% boost in net profit, and operating profits skyrocketed 320%, or about 111 million USD.

Susumu Fujita, the company’s president, highlighted three key titles generating the bulk of revenue:

• SD Gundam G Generation ETERNAL, which has surpassed 6 million downloads since its April launch
  
• Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond, which achieved over 2 million downloads since its June 2025 debut
  
• Umamusume: Pretty Derby English Version, performing exceptionally well to secure the company’s third-best game spot
  

Fujita also emphasized the importance of Shadowverse and Umamusume as intellectual properties owned directly by CyberAgent, meaning the company fully benefits from their revenue streams.

Proven Success in Asia and Growing Global Buzz

Before its global release, Umamusume: Pretty Derby was already hugely successful in Japan and Asia. From February 2021 to May 2024, the game generated over 2.4 billion USD in revenue, accounting for 72% of Cygames’ mobile game income. Positive reviews on Steam signal that this momentum is far from slowing down.

A Unique Blend of Idol and Horse Racing Genres

Umamusume: Pretty Derby combines idol simulation with horse racing. Cygames has released gameplay videos showing the training, physical conditioning, studying, and racing of the “horse girls.” Players take on the role of their trainer, helping them improve and compete.
